LSMCE Advisory Board Purpose
In accordance with the National Science Foundation award, Pilot Regional Louis Stokes Center: Midwest Center of Excellence, #1202563,
the Louis Stokes Midwest Center of Excellence (LSMCE) advisory board will support LSMCE by providing guidance, expertise,
and consultation in analyzing and understanding the causes, trends, and LSMCE’s responses to broadening underrepresented minority
participation at non-LSAMP schools. The STEM activities include workshops/conferences, webinars and research internships.
LSMCE Advisory Board Function
Advise the Principal Investigatory (PI), Co-PI(s),
and partner institutions on policy and changes that will improve the overall performance of LSMCE.

Recommend systems improvements in policy and practice in order to improve LSMCE effectiveness in identifying,
and designing best practice models that will broaden the participation of underrepresented minority (URM) students and faculty
in STEM activities at non-LSAMP institutions

Recommend improvements in protocols and procedures for LSMCE

Analyze data and review reports provided by LSMCE for discussion and feedback
