Learn to do research by conducting your own unique study! We build a sense of family by learning and reflecting together through workshops, field trips, seminars, tours, and a variety of social activities.
Research partners include the Radar Innovations Laboratory (arrc.ou.edu/ril.html) and South Central Climate Science Center (southcentralclimate.org) in addition to our long-standing partners: the NOAA National Severe Storms Laboratory (www.nssl.noaa.gov), NOAA National Weather Service (weather.gov/norman and www.spc.noaa.gov), the OU Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (cimms.ou.edu). Mentors may come from any OU research campus weather-related organization.
Eligibility: Pursuing a 2- or 4-year undergraduate degree & a US citizen or permanent resident. Applications from women and minorities are particularly encouraged. The University of Oklahoma is an equal opportunity institution.
Benefits: A Stipend of $5,000 is provided and a Subsistence of $500 to help with food costs (included in first check), and two allowances: Travel to/from Norman (up to $600) and travel to a National Conference (up to $1,500). Housing is provided in modern, furnished campus apartments that feature private bedrooms and shared bathroom and living spaces.
