    Navigating Salary Negotiations Webinar

    While most people spend time perfecting their cover letters, résumés, and interview strategies, most people fail to prepare for salary negotiations when the job offer comes—and some people don’t negotiate at all! On average, people who negotiate earn an average of $600,000 more over their entire careers than their colleagues who do not. Emily Easton of the University of Chicago will cover the basics of negotiations including how to prepare, how to approach the conversation, and how to determine what will be most valuable to you as a professional, no matter what field you are in. It also will include additional information on how to approach academic and non-academic negotiations, with a focus on scientific careers.

    Rebecca Pitkow, Guardians of Honor Project Manager, updates the community on the status of this new and highly-anticipated research tool. The LSAMP-DL will enable broader dissemination of LSAMP outcomes, impacts, and evidence-based best practices by increasing accessibility to this information. Through this dissemination, Alliances are able to use what others have found successful in their programs as examples to excel in their own programs. The digital repository of historical program records will build the capacity of both the LSAMP grantee and broadening participation communities by increasing the capacity of LSAMP to foster knowledge sharing and promote diversity in STEM fields and careers.
